Lawful purpose
Fila Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit corporation staffed entirely by volunteers whose charitable and benevolent purpose is to find loving permanent homes for Fila Brasileiros, to provide these dogs with medical care and shelter in times of need, and to educate potential adopters about the uniqueness of this breed and the importance of sterilization.
Management of the affairs of Fila Rescue, Inc. is vested in its members.
Corporation
We originally filed our Articles of Incorporation on 3/18/02 with the Texas Secretary of State, and were subsequently issued our Certificate of Incorporation. We ammended our Articles of Incorporation on 3/31/03 and were subsequently issued a Certificate of Ammendment. We are also exempt from Texas sales and use tax, as well as Texas franchise tax.
